Pax - Peace

LIVING COMMUNITY IN THE CONVENT

Above the entrance to our monastery is the wish "Pax - Peace" for all those arriving. With this wish for peace we also welcome you to the homepage of Göttweig Abbey!

Discover what Göttweig has to offer
 as a "place of encounter".

I know from conversations that people long for places of peace and spiritual oases.

Many find the Benedictine "ora et labora" (pray and work) to be a real help in life if this rhythm is at least partially incorporated into their personal lives.

Many experience Benedictine hospitality as an "expanse of the heart" in which not only the good and pious find a place. In this way, our monastery often becomes a place of new encounters with the church and thus an experience of God - also in our cultural offerings.

A warm welcome!

Abbot Patrick Schöder OSB
